Welcome to Happy Paws by Loz — inspired by my two beautiful (and often cheeky) beagles, Bernie and Bowie. Their playful, curious personalities sparked my love for creating fun, enriching, and tail‑wagging adventures for dogs.
I’m a local who grew up on a hobby farm at Killen Falls in Tintenbar, surrounded by animals big and small. Caring for animals has always been second nature to me, and over the years I’ve become the trusted go‑to for friends, family, and locals whenever they need someone reliable to look after their pets.
Happy Paws by Loz has been a long time in the making. After years of hands‑on experience caring for animals and dreaming about creating something of my own, I’m now at a point in my life where I can dedicate myself to doing what I love — providing safe, reliable, and loving care for local dogs.
I’m currently completing my Certificate III in Animal Care Services, continuing to build my knowledge and skills so every dog in my care receives the best possible experience.

Next, we’ll book a complimentary meet and greet! This is a lovely chance for us to bond and ensure we're the perfect fit. We’ll talk through your pet’s routines, behaviour, and any special instructions you have. My goal is to tailor every service so it feels like a seamless and joyful part of your pet’s daily life.

How do I book?

What are the general rates and packages?
What is Loz’s experience and training?
I have many years of hands-on experience caring for animals and I’m genuinely passionate about working with dogs of all ages and personalities. I am currently studying a Certificate III in Animal Care Services to deepen my knowledge and stay up to date with best practice care. I also offer a warm and professional free meet and greet before any booking, so you and your pet can feel completely comfortable and confident.
How is the safety of pets ensured?
Safety is my top priority. Dogs stay on leads unless in secure areas, and group matching is carefully handled based on social temperament. We conduct a meet and greet with you and your dog before starting any services to get familiar with their behaviour, prefernces, and any special instrcutions. We also have a new client form that we ask you to complete so we can be best equipped to ensure a smooth transition into the Happy Paws by Loz pack.
What happens in bad weather?
In extreme weather, such as heatwaves or storms, I’ll contact you to chat through options—this may include rescheduling or switching to a high‑quality home visit for indoor play and toilet breaks. Weather can be unpredictable, but I’ll always adjust plans so your dog still gets safe, suitable exercise, whether that’s a shorter walk or indoor activities. I continue walks in light rain, and I’ll towel‑dry your dog and make sure they’re not muddy before bringing them home.
Can additional services be requested for home visits?
Absolutely! I’m happy to help with light house tasks like watering plants, bringing in the bins, or adjusting lights to keep your home looking lived-in while you’re safely away.
What is the cancellation policy?
I understand life happens! For services such as Adventure Doggy Daycare, One-on-One Walks and Home Check-Ins, cancellations made 24 hours in advance are fee-free. Cancellations under 24 hours will incur a 50% fee to help cover the time that’s been set aside for your pup.
For Pet and House Sitting, if you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 7 days’ notice for long stays (5 or more days) and 2 days’ notice for short stays. Cancellations made with less than the required notice will incur a 50% cancellation fee. Please note that deposits are generally non-refundable.
What insurance cover is in place?
Happy Paws by Loz is fully insured for public liability, property in physical and legal control and goods in transit. Your pet’s wellbeing and your peace of mind are my highest concerns.
How does transport work?
Safe transport is a priority for all pick-up and drop-off services. I use a secure, well‑ventilated vehicle, and every dog is safely restrained using appropriate safety restraints and harness attachments where needed. All dogs travelling with Happy Paws by Loz will be transported in a secure, safe and well‑ventilated vehicle. Owners are responsible for ensuring their dog is comfortable travelling in a vehicle and must disclose any history of travel anxiety, motion sickness or behavioural concerns before transport, so we can make sure your dog is happy and relaxed on every trip
Where can I see photos of my pup’s adventures?
I love sharing updates! You can find photos and videos of our daily adventures on instagram @happy_paws_by_loz. I’ll also send you personal updates after our visits.
Do you take care of older dogs or special needs?
Definitely. I tailor every visit to the individual pet. For older dogs or those with special needs, we can focus on gentle companionship or strictly one-on-one attention.
Do you offer a meet and greet before bookings?
Yes. I’m very happy to arrange a free meet and greet so your pet can get to know me and you can ask any questions. It also helps me understand your pet’s routine, personality and any special needs before we confirm your booking.
What vaccinations, worming and tick prevention are required before booking?
For your dog’s safety and the safety of others, all dogs must be up to date with their core vaccinations, regular worming and flea/tick prevention before any booking. Please let me know your dog’s current prevention routine and any recent health concerns when you enquire, so we can make sure they’re safe and ready for adventures.

Leaving your pet at home while you’re away can feel stressful, but with Happy Paws by Loz your pet stays in their own familiar environment while receiving attentive, personalised care.
Meet & Greet
Before your booking, we arrange a meet‑and‑greet so I can get to know you and your pet. During this visit we’ll go through their routine, feeding instructions, behaviour, and any special care they may need. It also gives your pet a chance to become comfortable with me before the booking begins.
Maintaining Your Pet’s Routine
Pets thrive on routine, so I follow the care instructions you provide to keep their day as normal as possible. This may include:
• Feeding and fresh water
• Walks or backyard time
• Playtime and enrichment
• Cleaning litter trays or picking up after dogs
• Plenty of attention and companionship
Monitoring Your Pet’s Wellbeing
During each visit I keep an eye on your pet’s behaviour, appetite, and overall wellbeing. If anything seems unusual, I’ll contact you and follow the emergency or vet instructions you’ve provided.
Caring for Your Home
While I’m caring for your pets, I also help keep your home secure and tidy. This may include bringing in mail, watering plants, and checking that doors, gates, and alarms are secure.
Updates While You’re Away
You’ll receive updates during your booking so you always know how your pet is going. This may include messages, photos, or short notes about their day.

Each half‑day “Social Hound” outing blends guided pack walks with safe, supervised off‑leash play, so your dog can sniff, explore, socialise and simply enjoy being a dog in nature.
• Home pick‑up and drop‑off – No need to go anywhere. Your dog is collected from your home in a safe, climate‑controlled vehicle and brought back after their adventure.
